Mo’s Prose – Day 305 / Full Length Mirror

Day 305 – Monday, March 13, 2017

Full Length Mirror

I watched a woman walking down, yon hallway at my work,
Her high-top shoes, with too-short pants, were looking like a jerk
But lest you call me critical, or rotter with no fear,
I think what she was really missing, was a full-length mirror!

I know this ‘cause I’m not a judge, like she I am inclined,
And several times I’ve come to work, and seen myself unwind
Mornings aren’t my best of times; I’m not that great ‘till noon,
And when I glimpse what I have done, I nearly start to swoon

Hair disaster, pants are wrong and socks don’t match at all,
Like a child who dressed herself, and momma she must call
The wretched wench I see reflecting back from full-length mirror,
Will groan and tell me, put one in your house, right over here!

Unless you are a fashion plate and love the fabric tease,
Like me, you are a dismal dresser, buying stuff in threes…
One last scan, from top to toe, to save wee bits of pride,
Your final peek within the mirror, and safely walk outside!
