Day 361 – Monday, May 8, 2017
The Button
I’d like to invent a button,
Discreet and quick to reach;
That let’s me do, the things I need,
When time I do beseech
Because I have no discipline,
No sense of time and space
And drink a pint of water,
Right before I sleep with grace
I know this as I lay me down,
I’ll wake at two o’clock
Alas, I slept with bladder full,
Held by a body lock
But if I had a button,
That did an instant purge,
I’d sleep right through alarms, I say,
And miss this nightly scourge
The same with trips and meetings sure,
Just one quick poke and done
A morning race, a hike up hill,
At least I’d have some fun!
But no, I’m in the thick of it,
When liquids process through
Now pee-pee dance, don’t wet your pants!
Just what’s a girl to do?
Are we not to hydrate well?
Eight-glasses water glutton?
Well, I am game, it’s all the same,
But give us all a button!
