Wacky Words

Words are our friend, but not all the same,
Can mean different things, different places
‘Cause you can just tell, you didn’t do swell,
A gaff, –from the looks on their faces

A little faux pas, or major guffaw,
Especially when traveling abroad
But once you step in, you’re stuck with the sin,
You’re now an American sod…

Let’s take an example I learned long ago,
When “fanny packs” replaced our purses
Important to know, that “fanny” will go,
In Europe, Australia –as curses

If you start to mutter, (complaining verbose),
Your fanny’s too big for your jeans
You just said your genitals, won’t fit in pants,
Now surely they all want vaccines!

So think of this next time you’re traveling,
Do mind more than just P’s and Q’s
Expressions and slang, could mean a da-dang,
And get you some wide-eyed reviews!
